WHAT A GREAT ESPRESSO MACHINE!!!I saw information on the LUNA by ESPRESSIONE a couple of weeks ago and could hardly wait to get my machine. I just redid our kitchen and have a look that includes textured walls similar to what is found in Europe combined with stainless steel appliances.
The stainless steel finish of the LUNA attracted me first to the machine. Then the idea of not having to have this item taking up valuable counter space was the second thing. The final element that turned me on to the LUNA is the fact that it's a pump operated machine for use with the new coffee serving or pod. I've had these in Italy and New York and they are great. Now to have them in the home is nothing short of fantastic.
It was easy to install the stainless steel metal plate into the wall. After deciding where I wanted the machine, I placed the template on the wall, marked the point for the 4 holes, drilled the holes in the wall, inserted the rawlplugs, fixed the stainless metal plate and screwed the plate into the wall. Then it was very easy to hook the espresso machine and fix it to the plate. This process took less than 10 minutes.
I used a liter bottle of Evian mineral water. When I pushed up the function selection lever, the result of the coffee was incredible. Hot, rich extraction, with a beautiful crema. The machine is very quiet in comparison to other pump espresso machines that I've owned. Then I went to froth milk for a cappuccino. When I pushed the function selection lever down, immediately (no down time) powerful steam came out of the machine. I was able to froth the milk in no time. Just for the fun of it, after I frothed the milk, I left the steam valve open and the powerful steam kept coming out for several minutes.
This machine is definitely a five star item. For the quality, performance and result, the machine is an incredible value. My friends have comments that the machhine looks like an object of art.
Pods is definitely the way to go. They require no advance preparation, the coffee is fantastic (I tried the two pods that came with my LUNA machine-I will order more of these pods from amazon.com this week), there is no fuss, no mess.
I highly recommend this machine. It's great not only for homes, but offices, places of busines, bars, concierge levels, etc.

This stainless steel machine features commercial quality components, is well suited for small restaurants, hotels, and cafes, and of course, use by the upscale consumer. Easy to use - simply lift the handle to make coffee, lower the handle and you get steam!Espressione's Luna espresso machine is as much an elegant element of a room's design as a mere java brewer. It can be wall mounted or suspended on a metal support, saving space in the consumer or restaurant kitchen. Produced in Italy, the machine uses mineral water bottles, or other bottles, as the water reservoir, which eliminates the often-cumbersome water tank.
All this stylish functionality doesn't mean that the Luna skimps on the espresso-making process. On the contrary, it makes excellent espresso and has a number of great features, including 15-bar pump pressure, a brass boiler with a .7-liter water capacity, a solid stainless-steel body, and a strong thermo block for instant and continuous steam, as well as a UL-rated, 1,450-watt heating element. There are two different systems for extracting espresso and for steaming milk, and a no-water supply protection system that shuts off the machine when the water reservoir is empty. One thing to remember when using the Luna: it only works with ESE coffee serving pods, which resemble a round tea bag and contain the proper amount of ground coffee--7 grams to be exact--to make a single serving of espresso. Luckily, Espressione also has coffee pods available in 100 percent Arabica, espresso, and decaffeinated styles. The 110-volt Luna has a cup warmer on top and measures 15-1/4 by 15-1/2 by 6-1/4 inches (length by height by width). --A.J. Rathbun
